Race for silverware hots up!

This Wednesday night is packed with cup and plate action as a number of semi finals take place across the 2011’s divisions. With a place in the final up for grabs all the teams involved will be determined to book their place and the chance to add some silverware to round off a brilliant first season in competitive football in the ERSDA league.

Matches Wednesday 1st May

OLM v Stamperland
Renfrew Blue v United Juniors

EKYC v Third Lanark
Whatacres Wolves v St Cadocs

Carolside v Clydebank
OLM A&A v Yoker

Elsewhere in the 2010’s leagues the finalists of the cups are already in place after some exciting matches along the way. Stamperland will face of against St Cadocs Sporting in the Division one final. St Cadocs won the last time the two side met in the league by a single goal and with the teams occupying 1st and 2nd place in the league it’s sure to be another tight match come the final.

Thorn Athletic left it very late against Pollock in the semi final of the Division two cup semi final after trailing 1-0 for much of the match and then missing a penalty in the final few minutes it looked like curtains on their quest for cup glory, however a last minute goal forced the match to penalties which the Thorn went on to win. Renfrew knocked out OLA in the other semi final coming back from 3-1 down to take the match 4-3 and secure their place in the final along side the Thorn.

In the Division three ERSDA cup final Arthurlie take on Port Glasgow Whites. Port have only conceded 2 goals and scored 13 on their march to the final and have two clean sheets in the quarter and semi final matches so are going to be tough for Arthurlie to break down however with Arthurlie sitting top of the Division 3 Upper group confidence will be high that they can overturn the 2-1 defeat they suffered the last time the sides met in the league.

Only one of the finals of the ERSDA plate has been confirmed so far with Whitacres v EKRR.

Confirmation of dates and venues for all finals will be posted shortly on the website and socials.
