Cup & Plate Weekend

ERSDA LEAGUE CUP

This weekend is packed with cup and plate action as teams from across the ERSDA 2010 divisions battle it out for silverware! The action kicks off tonight (8th March) with a local derby between Johnstone Burgh and Thorn Athletic as they both look to progress to the semi final of the Division Two ERSDA cup competition. The match kicks off at 7:45pm at Mossedge in Linwood and is sure to be a very competitive match. The last time these two teams met was a six goal thriller in the league which seen both teams take a point each, however tonight there must be a winner and the dreaded penalty shoot out may be required to separate the sides should neither of them find a winning goal in normal time.

Tomorrow has some exciting ties also with two matches in the Division One ERSDA league cup taking place, high flying Stamperland look unbeatable just now but this is the cup and anything can happen as they travel to Barrhead hoping to repeat the 3-1 result they had in January. St Cadocs Sporting take on Tass Thistle in the other division one semi final tomorrow, whoever goes through from these matches it’s shaping up to be a great final!

New Look, Great Start

Morton community Yellow looked a million Dollars as they took the field for their first ever competitive match against Clydebank yesterday in their brand new strips sponsored by local company A&I Geotechnical.

The team got off to a fantastic start on their competitive journey by winning 7-0 and currently sit top of the 2011 split group D after one match, Good luck for the remaining games and welcome to Ersda.

Claremont 2011’s Race Night

Claremont 2011’s will host a race night to raise some funds for the team on the 23rd of March at the British legion in East Kilbride. As well as the chance to win some money on the races there’s also a variety of prizes ranging from vouchers, ticket and food & drink by purchasing a few raffle tickets.

Tickets are £5 each and everyone is welcome to go along, so if you’re in the area why not pop along and lend some support. I doubt the money raised will go towards buying any new players though as they seem to be doing really well with the squad they have !

Wolves look to build

Whiteacres wolves 2010’s are looking to bring in new faces to their ranks, the ERSDA division one team will be hoping to build on a slow start to the season and climb up the table in the coming weeks and a few new additions would maybe help them achieve this.

Dressed to thrill !

Thorn Athletic 2010’s took a time out from their warm up before the top of the table clash with Barrhead yesterday to pose for a quick photo to show off their brand new home kit thanks to Ronnie Stalker of Ronnie Stalker and Son butchers in Dalry. The new strip seemed to bring the boys luck as they ran out 5-1 winners to come within a point of Barrhead who still sit top of the Ersda div 2.
